This year's responses to our Be Our Guest at Midwest were truly remarkable. The stories we read were heartwarming and inspiring, and we couldn't be more proud of the life-changing work so many music educators are doing for young people everywhere. We were moved by your stories of student success despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

And the winners are...

With over 800 submissions (from all 50 states, Canada, and Australia and even some European and Caribbean countries), the decision to select just five among so many great applications was extremely difficult.

Without further adieu, here are the winners of this year's contest. Click on the video below to see their live reaction when we told them they had won! :)

Jennifer Haden - Fruita Monument High School, River Oaks, TX
Joshua Sall - Melbourne High School, Melbourne, FL
Keith Johnson - El Cerrito High School, El Cerrito, CA
Janeen Wilkins - East Anchorage High School, Anchorage, AK
Scott Glasser - Marcos de Niza High School, Tempe, AZ

Thank you to everyone who applied this year. If you were not selected, don't worry — we’re already in the planning stages for an even bigger and better contest in 2018!
