Friends,

FEBRUARY 2014

Love is in the Air!hearts 2

Would you like to help make Valentine’s Day special for the kids at CCYA? We need donations of treats and gifts. This can include gift cards, books, DVDs, makeup, socks, hair accessories, body spray/cologne, Valentine’s cards, etc.

You can also bring in a special meal or dessert for one or more of the homes on campus. For more information, please contact Merrill Baker at mbaker@ccyakids.org, (770) 485-1659.

------------------------------

Looking for a special way to celebrate the holiday? CCYA is the beneficiary of an upcoming Valentine Gala hosted by The Chattahoochee Plantation Women’s Club. The theme is “A Date to Cherish” and will be held on February 8th at the Atlanta Country Club. There will be cocktails, dinner and dancing, as well as a silent and live auction. One lucky guest with the winning raffle ticket will take home a cash prize!

Tickets are $100 and include dinner, two drink tickets, and dancing. Black tie optional.

The Chattahoochee Plantation Women’s Club is a non-profit women’s organization founded in 1970 and based in Marietta. They are “dedicated to community service, conserving our natural resources and maintaining a strong social network in our neighborhood.” For more information on the Chattahoochee Plantation Women’s Club, please visit their website at http://www.chattahoocheeplantationwomensclub.org/.

How You Can Help in the New Yearmoney 2

As a private, nonprofit organization, we rely on community support from people like you. If you are looking for a way to help out, here are some of our current needs:

  • Help with Activities for Weekends & School Holidays
The kids have two week-long breaks coming up, one February 13-18 and then Spring Break March 31-April 4. We like to keep our kids having fun and learning during these school vacations, but the high cost to take out 35 boys and girls can make that difficult! You can help by purchasing tickets, passes, or gift cards for different venues and restaurants. Some popular spots include:
- Movie Theatres (AMC, Regal Cinemas, NCG)
- Six Flags, White Water
- Brunswick Bowling, Sparkles Skating, Dave & Busters
- Restaurants (McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Golden Corral)

  • Birthday Celebrations
To celebrate, each birthday boy/girl gets a $25 gift card and a cake, and then they get to choose a special outing. You can help by donating:
- $25 gift card (Visa, AmEx, Target, Walmart)
- Gift cards to Publix, Sam’s Club, Baskin Robbins, etc. where we can purchase cakes
- Passes for special outings. Some previous picks have been: Fork & Screen Movie Theatre, a Chinese buffet restaurant, the Georgia Aquarium, Dave & Busters, tickets to sporting events and concerts

  • Bedrooms
In order to make this place feel like “home”, we like for the kids’ bedrooms to be colorful and welcoming. You can help by donating NEW:
- Twin Sheet Sets
- Comforter/Bedding Sets
- Pillows
- Shower Curtains
- Bathmats
- Curtain Rods
- Trash Cans

  • Fundraiser Events
We have several fundraisers throughout the year. You can support these events by:
- Purchasing Tickets
- Donating items for our silent auction
- Having your business sponsor
- Purchasing ad space in our Fashion Show program

  • Monetary Donations
As always, individual donations are a vital resource for The Center. Donations may be made online at:
http://ccyakids.org/index.php/info/how-you-can-help/make-a-donation

Or by mailing a check to 2221 Austell Rd. Bldg. 1 Ste. 100 Marietta, GA 30008
Please consider making a regular monthly donation. Any amount helps, and these dollars add up to allow us to continue serving youth in need.

For more information, please contact Merrill Baker at mbaker@ccyakids.org.
