Welcome to the January 30, 2008 edition of Network for Good's Nonprofit Marketing & Fundraising Tips, a semi-weekly newsletter with information for any nonprofit looking to generate results through smart fundraising and marketing. In this issue:
5 Tips for Making the Dive into Social Networking
If you're sitting at your computer hugging your organization's mission statement, branding guide and/or special event brochure (the one that was approved by everyone in your office, your board, your babysitter, etc. etc.), it's time to take a deep breath-this idea might scare you. It's time to turn your message over to your constituents. That's right: let your fundraisers spread the word for you, outside of your direct reach. In order to take full advantage of social networking opportunities, you need to develop a plan to find your wired fundraisers (and capture their email addresses), empower them with your message and let them use their social networking tools to fly solo. Here are a few steps to get you started:
No, Seriously-You Really Should Dive Into Social Networking with Wired Fundraisers.

Register for our next Nonprofit 911 Email newsletters are great tools for nonprofits because they are so much cheaper to produce and distribute than print newsletters. The only problem is that they can be deleted in an instant or trapped forever in spam filters. And even when they are opened, they are often too *yawn* boring to grab the readers' attention and move them to action. Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com's Kivi Leroux Miller will outline some important best practices for nonprofit email newsletters and will share several quick fixes that can move your so-so email newsletter to greatness, including writing powerful headlines and using an editorial calendar. She'll also discuss ways to convert your current print newsletter into an email newsletter. Register for this (free!) upcoming Nonprofit 911 call scheduled for February 26 at 1 p.m. EST. |
