The brag: new clients, new projects, new team members
It’s been a while since our last newsletter and there’s a lot to tell you about. More than we’ve got room for here, actually, so we’ll stick with the highlights…
…We’ve been busy, busy, busy working on several projects for Scotiabank, including developing the new carousel widget that graces the scotiabank.com home page and helping hone the user experience for the scene.ca portal for the SCENE loyalty program…
…We launched 4, yes, 4, new sites for the Toronto Arts Council / Foundation. You can find them at www.torontoarts.org. All 4 sites are fully automated through Web-based content management and they also include tools for helping track site performance and Return on Investment…
…Speaking of ROI, Fruition Interactive’s Web-based eCRM solution for Working Women Community Centre is helping that organization track and report on their organization’s performance better and faster than ever before. You can read more about that here…
…We couldn’t have done any of it without our skilled and hard-working team, which is growing all the time. Two new faces you may be working with are Liz Saunders-McManus and Randy Horton. Liz joins us to help with administration, and you’ve probably already met her if you’ve tried to book a meeting with me in the last month or so, while Randy joins us as senior project manager, having previously worked with Workopolis.com, Kaboose, CIBC and several other of Canada’s top Web properties.

Quick Tip: upgrade from Internet Explorer 6 for a better Web
We’re generally big advocates of the open source Firefox Web browser, and we advise any of our Windows-using clients who are able to switch to do it – it’s fast, it’s got great features, it’s more secure and it crashes less than Microsoft’s Web browser. But if you’re locked in to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (MSIE) by corporate IT policies or for some other reason, it’s worth the time to upgrade from version 6.0.
More and more sites are joining the lead taken by YouTube and are phasing-out support for MSIE 6. Later versions (the latest is 8.0) offer better support for Internet standards as well as security and stability improvements. Plus, if you upgrade before the end of September, Microsoft will contribute 16 meals to the Feeding America foundation. Upgrade your Explorer at http://www.browserforthebetter.com/
