Hello again from Sandbox Threads--

My favorite part of running Sandbox Threads is that I get to make a whole bunch of pseudo online friends. I have met very few of you, but many of you I know by name and I also know your kids by name.

One of those pseudo friends shared a story with me a few weeks ago about her 4 year-old-nephew, Elijah, who has been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a childhood cancer found in the brain and spinal cord. She wanted to help the family raise money for Elijah's treatment, and she asked if Sandbox Threads might be able to help. Our answer was yes.

First I'll let her tell you a bit about Elijah, and then I'll tell you how you can help the family raise money for his treatment (and get a nice Sandbox Threads shirt in the process).

Elijah's Story

Image"Elijah is a courageous 4 year old who was recently diagnosed with a childhood cancer found in the brain and spine known as PNET. Approximately 460 cases are diagnosed each year in the U.S. and most commonly diagnosed in children from ages 0-4 years. Over the past month, he has had 2 surgeries, including an operation to remove a tumor from his brain. He has started aggressive radiation and chemotherapy to attack 4 additional tumors along the length of his spine. Although he’s only 4 years old, he has a great attitude about what’s going on in his life and continues to be the shadow of his 8 year-old sister, Alana. His dad, Juan, proudly serves as a police officer for the St. Charles City Police Department in Missouri and his mother, Michelle, works at doctor’s office near their home in O’Fallon, Missouri."

"The overflow of moral support from family and friends has been a great inspiration of HOPE for Elijah’s family. Feel free to leave a message of HOPE on Elijah’s guestbook."

Hope > Fear
For the rest of this month (and possibly longer), when you purchase our Hope > Fear design, Sandbox Threads will donate $5 to Elijah's family to go toward his continued treatment.

And I just want to be clear, that's five dollars for every Hope > Fear shirt, not just per order. And, yes, this offer applies to both

The Little People version

and

The Big Kids version

The family picked this design, and I think the message is a perfectly simple yet powerful choice that reflects the attitude of this family.

Hope > Fear

Sandbox Threads has a small, but loyal following, so I ask that this email does not stop with you. Please share Elijah's story with others and ask that they do the same. Consider posting this info on Facebook or Twitter or your blog or wherever. Please just help us help Elijah.

You guys are awesome!

Prayers and good thoughts for Elijah

Sincerely,
Andy, The Dad of Sandbox Threads and Elijah and his family.
