A Mission Journal of Billy and Sherry McKillop

God is at Work!

Last week, Lloyd Cooke, MIA's misisonary on the ground in Mandeville, Jamaica was one of many who helped the churches there organize an evangelistic outreach event where hundreds of people made commitments to follow Jesus.  There were also events in Kingston and Montego Bay that drew over 225,000 people!  (Click on the picture to read more.)

The need for discipleship and training is great.  Pray for the churches who will follow up.   We plan to "hit the ground running" serving the churches in Jamaica, and would like to be there now!  Please continue to pray and join our support team at whatever amount,  so that we can be there!  WE NEED YOU!

"What keeps you going?"

A friend in Miami asked us this, knowing that we have been traveling for a year now raising support full time and were at it for more than a year before that part-time.  Missionaries get discouraged (and yes, we have been) with how long it often takes, but the LORD reminds us that 1) Raising support is part of the ministry, not simply a prelude to it.   2) God's good providence extends to the needs of birds and wild flowers and missionaries' support. 3) Our help (financial support) comes ultimately from HIM (Ps. 121).

13 churches in 3 states!

In March and April we shared about our ministry in 13 different churches in 3 states and spoke with many more pastors and individuals.  The LORD has added 2 more churches to our list of monthly ministry partners.  Please pray for the others who are considering us.

Thanks for your financial support!

Your gifts  "are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.  And God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."  Phil. 4:18-19

Quotables:

"There are literally some North American Christians who are not supposed to be in church next Sunday; God is calling them to move into neighborhoods where there is no church."  Bob Blincoe, president of Frontiers Mission.
