Support the Hospital Infantil...by joining the Foundation for the Children of the Californias in our annual matching funds event at Petco Park on Sunday, August 2, 2009 as the Padres play the Milwaukee Brewers! This event is a cross-border community partnership, benefiting children in desperate need of medical care.

The Hospital Infantil de las Californias, located just across the Tijuana border, provides essential healthcare services to children from California and Mexico. Services include 35 pediatric specialties, day surgery, rehabilitation, ambulatory care, radiology, laboratory, ophthalmology and education. Medical care is provided regardless of the ability to pay.

Sponsor perks include company logo on over 1.2 million McDonald’s trayliners in the San Diego and Tijuana region as well as an opportunity to view the game from the Commissioner’s Suite and event day recognition at PETCO Park in downtown San Diego. Marketing coverage for the event will include television, radio, and newspaper exposure in both the greater San Diego and Tijuana regions, including Televisa Channel 12, Univision KBNT 17, Recuerdo 102.9 FM, La Nueva Radio 106.5 FM, Padres Magazine, XLNC1 Classical 104.9FM, Riviera Magazine and Gente Bien Magazine.

One way to ensure that the medical needs of our tiny patients continues to be met, is to assist with in-kind donations of much needed medical equipment. Here is a partial "Wish List" for the HIC:

Seventy-five percent (75%) of our medical staff is volunteer and we are able to keep our medical services at a reasonable cost for families because of this. Donors like you play an important role in maintaining a high level of service for our patients at a cost that is affordable for families.

The Foundation for the Children of the Californias board invites to you to attend our monthly board meeting on May 20th, 2009 for a status/progress report regarding the new wing of the hospital. The new wing is to be named CURARTE (which means “to cure you”) and we anticipate construction to begin in early 2010. You are of course invited to attend board meetings at any time but the May meeting will be of special interest to all who support our mission.
