In This Issue:
As the candidates bombard us with snarky ads and fundraising requests (and it’s only September!), it’s hard to think past the elections to the business of getting things done. The summer addition of our print newsletter, The FLOW, was chock full of stories about how citizens, working with their elected officials, scored great victories for rivers (to read it online, click here).
Here’s one more story in that vein, from Milwaukee, to celebrate. We hope it inspires you to get engaged politically, and reminds you of the importance of helping elect candidates whose interests align with your environmental views. Click here to read more.
The 4th Annual River Alliance Online Auction is open for business...and bidding. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to support our programs and efforts to save Wisconsin's rivers. The auction catalog includes great items from across Wisconsin, including guided fishing trips, tickets to great Door County attractions and pieces from Wisconsin artists. Click here to register and start bidding.
Special thanks to this year’s auction sponsors, Inter-Fluve Inc. and Capital Newspapers, for their generous support.
Congratulations to stream monitoring coordinator Chris Clayton and his wife Nicki on the birth of Maeve Isabel. She joined us on August 16, 19 inches long and weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces. Maeve is the fourth addition to the River Alliance family in the span of one year – we think we’re done for now, unless there’s something in the water…… |
