San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations (SFCDMA) Partners with ProLocal to Spotlight Hidden SF Neighborhoods
Local merchants association organizer ProLocal is partnering with San Francisco Council of District Merchants Associations (SFCDMA) on a promotional campaign called “Into the 'Hoods: Discovering San Francisco’s hidden neighborhoods." The insert will be included in San Francisco Magazine’s 300,000 print run this June, 65% of which is distributed to tourism venues, including hotels and hot spots.
Into the 'Hoods aims to give tourists the content that they want: A true local's experience for shopping, dining, and exploring San Francisco in 12 neighborhoods that are off the typical tourist’s beaten path.
“Tourism is SF's largest revenue producer and all of our neighborhoods are ready for the spotlight and a share of the pie” says Kieron Sinnette, CEO of ProLocal.
Henry Karnilowicz the President of SFCDMA says, “75% of tourists are return visitors, I think it’s time we guide those visitors to some of our other local hotspots and landmarks.”
Along with launching a complete and consistent brand identity for the project, ProLocal plans to promote the insert through tourist resource outlets, social media, word of mouth, and two events, one in March 2015, and then the launch in June 2015.
“What makes San Francisco special is it's people, no matter what neighborhood you visit,” said Lynette Elliott, Associate Publisher at San Francisco Magazine. “Even for us locals, exploring the city we call home is a lifelong process, there's always something new and exciting to do.”
