The Halloween Hunt is a family friendly event happening in the Peasl District. Participating businesses will be handing out treats for all our Trick-or-Treaters! There will also be information and resources covering safe routes to school and work, tips on riding with children, and bicycle maintenance.

Need more details about everyday transport bicycling with kids? Our Solutions Workshop offers real-life experiences directly from parents and caregivers who are using bikes as their main mode of transportation. The workshop will be open until full. Sign up at: rsvp Oregon Manifest.

In collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in Washington, D.C. and the City of Portland, Oregon Manifest will present the US debut of Dreams On Wheels - a showcase of Danish cycling culture and Denmark's commitment to sustainability via urban design. The exhibit merges urban cycling culture, design intelligence, and environmental consciousness through case studies and photography. Oregon Manifest, 539 NW 10th Ave (at Hoyt)

Surgeon Joins Legacy Weight Management Institute


Legacy Good Samaritan Weight Management Institute is pleased to welcome bariatric surgeon Valerie Halpin, M.D. to the medical staff.  The American Society for Bariatric Surgery has accredited the institute as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence for surgical weight loss.
 
Dr. Halpin received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.  She completed a research fellowship in advanced laparoscopy at Washington University Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery.  Dr. Halpin practiced at Washington University for four years as well as held a faculty position, training surgical residents.  Most recently, she has practiced bariatric surgery with Oregon Weight Loss Surgery in Portland.

Legacy Good Samaritan Weight Management Institute is located at 1040 NW 22nd Avenue, Suite 520, Portland, Oregon. 
 
The clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Please call 503-413-7557 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
