 For the past 40 years the Hamilton Health Center (www.hamiltonhealthcenter.com) has been providing quality medical care to residents of the Greater Harrisburg area with five medical and dental locations throughout the Harrisburg area, as well as 12 WIC sites. Because of its vital role in the communities it serves, the Hamilton Health Center must remain open even when Mother Nature decides to assert herself. That was the challenge faced on two occasions this year when a tree limb punctured their roof on May 27th and a roof drain clogged during heavy rains on September 16th causing damage at one of Hamilton Health Center’s main facilities. Both times, ServiceMaster of Greater Harrisburg – West Shore was called to mitigate the water damage inside the facility and repair the roof. This work had to be done in such a way as to minimize the interruption of the Health Center’s normal operations. In order to accomplish this, the mitigation and repair work for the first loss was done primarily in the evening hours. The result being that the Health Center did not need to close at any time. Commenting on the work completed by ServiceMaster, Jeannine Peterson, CEO of the Hamilton Health Center said: “This is the second time we’ve worked with this company. Both times the staff responded quickly. They were always professional and courteous and the work was done right the first time. Additionally, each step of the process was explained to my satisfaction.” |

We at ServiceMaster of Greater Harrisburg, West Shore and Chambersburg are pleased to announce a program where ServiceMaster will be helping people in the seven counties where ServiceMaster provides disaster restoration services. This program, simply entitled “ServiceMaster – Giving Back”, is designed to help senior citizens with special needs by making minor repairs to their homes. In 2012, working with and through the local business community, potential recipients will be identified who may benefit from our services.  On January 26, 2012, ServiceMaster will conduct a CE Class in the Harrisburg Area at the Holiday Inn and Express, 4021 Union Deposit Road. This class will deal with Reducing Severities through an Understanding of Furniture Damage and Restoration. This 3 hour seminar will educate the participants on the various causes and types of damage that can occur to fine furniture and wood surfaces in a property loss situation. This is a 3 credit course. | Effective Subrogation | ||||||
|
On average, only 2% of an insurance carrier’s claims are successfully subrogated. Obviously, not all claims are eligible for subrogation, but there is a significant competitive profit and price advantage for the carrier and agency that experiences an elevated subrogation success rate versus others that experience the average. A major contributor to this statistic is a lack of a coherent subrogation identification and preservation strategy by restoration contractors. Additionally, carrier claim department restructuring for cost savings has decreased the average experience level for claim representatives and increased the average workload. The net result is less effective subrogation. With ServiceMaster, however, the case is entirely different.
